Client / Employment:

Our Client is an international Corporation headquartered in Europe with activities all over the world.  The candidate selected for the current job will be employed with Nexus Corporation at Tokyo, Japan, and deputed to work at our Cleint's office.  The job is on contract basis for 3 to 6 months but extendable over a longer period.  At the expiry of the contract period, the candidate is highly likely to be absorbed by the Client into permanent position with them directly, which will, of course, depend on the performance of the candidate.

Scope of position:

Reporting to the QA Team Leader, acts as part of a team to provide testing services for the maintenance and development of in-house custom software applications. Testing usually occurs on multiple platforms (both client-server and application based).

We require a skilled automation specialist who understands the intricacies of GUI testing as well as non-gui test automation. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated history of designing, writing and maintaining effective GUI test suites for non-trivial applications and an eye for maximizing the effectiveness of test automation.

Functional Tasks:

• Plan, write and maintain automated scripts to test permutations of complex GUI functionality (both web and app based).
• Create test suites for specific purposes (smoke testing, pre-deployment testing, regression etc)
• Analyze and report results of testing to stakeholders
• Implement automation framework to support ease of QTP test writing and maintenance
• Work with project teams to increase testability of delivered code and augment manual test efforts
• Work with development teams to build test support tools

Software Skills:

Position requires competence in the following:
• 2+ years of QTP testing including implementing keyword or data driven frameworks
• Ability to code in VBScript
• Ability to code in one or more of the following:
o JavaScript, Perl, Python, shellscript, C++, Java
• Read and understand SQL queries
• Experience with HP Quality Center

The following skills are highly regarded:
• Unit testing frameworks (cppUnit, jUnit etc)
• Implementing domain-specific languages
• Continuous integration tools
• Watir, Selenium or similar automation tools
• Familiarity with unix
• Familiarity with Apache or similar web-server technology
• Prior testing experience with AS400 based applications
• Prior testing experience with web based applications

Preferred Experience / Education:

Japanese and English fluency – the role requires excellent communication skills in an environment where both Japanese and English are frequently used. The applicant should have at least JLPT Level 3 certifications or be able to communicate at that level.
• Prior experience in the insurance industry or related financial industries would be given preference
• Prior non-automation testing experience
• Experience in testing to strict compliance requirements.
• Bachelor (4-year) degree (Computer Science preferred) or equivalent experience.
